Little Red Wolf Girl

In the spirit of October and the urge to draw some artwork in this recent dry spell of inspiration and large amounts of schoolwork I've decided to created a series of pictures of the holidays similar to my previous LARGER THAN LIFE, NURSERY FABLES.

And so, here I present:

6 PALE BY COMPARISON, NURSERY FABLES:

#1. “Little Red Wolf Girl”

A twist on a classic fairy tale, “Little Red Riding Hood” only in this case it’s more of tale of the wolves. In this case, the girl in the red cape is called Flann (short for Flannery) and she’s actually a young wolf demon who lives in the mountains with her mother, the great demon Musei (which is also the one she’s riding, yes that’s a female wolf since her species are like dwarves, which means you can’t tell male from females easily). Anyway, the reason Flann wears diapers is because by her species standards, she barely 2 years old, as her species ages about 10 humans years for 1 wolf demon year, and she’s 16 so do the math. Normally, her species begins to gradually grow more wolf-like features as they get older that by the time they’re a 100th human years, they’ll be fully formed wolves. Flann is playful and kind but she always longs to get down from the mountains into the valley below, which her mother warns is home to the dreaded “Sin-Eater,” a human that devours demons to gain their strength. So, after one day going off to play she encounters the Sin Eater and accidentally gives him the location of her mother, which he goes to devour first. And the story pretty much takes over the standard Red Riding Hood format from there.

The most pondering question is why would she wear disposable diapers in a fairy tale, but some mysteries are better left explaining for another day I'd wager.
